Taking into consideration that a majority of my body is covered in tattoos that I started getting as a teenager, and I will still continue to get, I would like to make the case that we need to stop normalizing face tattoos. I get the heritage of the medium, from tribal cultures around the world, the tattooing of the face is both rite of passage and heritage. From modern Russian to Chicano culture it still lives on, but for the average person, it needs to quit. Not because I am objecting to the concept, I just don’t think the average person makes the best tattoo choices when they are tattooing something that may exist under their clothing, let alone on their face. Artists like Post Malone have definitely brought this out in to our visual lexicon and I am actually seeing more women than men doing it, but for real people…
